Monument to the Great Fire of London

Teisel septembril 1666 tekis tulekahju Pudding Lane tänaval mis hävitas kolm veerandid ainult kolme päevaga. See oli Suur Londoni Tulekahju. 1671ja 1677 aasta vahel arhitekti söör Christopher Wren ehitas monumendi Suure Tulekahju mälestuseks. monument on 61.5 meetrit kõrge - see on täpselt monumendi ja tulekahju

You can go up a spindal staircase to a platform from where you have a nice view over the City of London

Malaaria? Kanadas?

Kas sul on olnud kunagi malaaria? Kui on olnud, siis on tõenäoline et sa said selle haiguse kuumal maal.Malaaria on väga tavaline troopika maades, eriti märjas ja niiskes kliimas kus sääsed kes kannavad haigust saavad paljuneda. Malaaria muutus äsja tavaliseks ka Kanadas. Vastavalt praegustele teadetele, on üle 1000 inimese haigestunud haigusese, ja see arv tõuseb iga aastaga alates aastast 1994. See on ärevust tekitav suund.

Miks on malaaria esinevus on seal tõusnud? Vastus peitub reisimises. Rohkem ja rohkem kanadlasi reisivad välismaal iga aasta, ja mõnedhaigestuvad malaariasse. Ometi, siis kui Torontost pärit naine jäi haigeks eelmisel aastal, tema arst avastas, et see naine ei ole kunagi väälismaal käinud. Ta pidi olema nakadunud sääse tõttu kes oli saanud haiguse kellegilt teiselt haigelt Kanadas.
